High Performance Computing in Research Applications Course OIRT, as part of the UHR's IT Certificate Program, conducts a course in High Performance Computing in Research Applications. The course covers the historical background of HPC at universities, current and emerging technologies, and how to find HPC resources and expertise internal/external to Rutgers. CIP Supercomputing Seminar OIRT conducted a seminar on November 16th, 2005 on how to apply for computing grants to the national supercomputing centers. The National Science Foundation´s CyberInfrastructure Partnership (CIP) serves as a coordination point for these facilities.

On-Campus Supercomputing

Rutgers University has two Sun E10000 (64 CPU/32G RAM each) and a Sun E12000 (36 CPU/108G RAM) located in the Center for Advanced Information Processing (CAIP). These systems are available to university researchers. More information on these systems can be found at http://www.caip.rutgers.edu/~e10k. Accounts on these machines may be requested by sending an email to e10krequest@caipNOSPAM.rutgers.edu.
